Familiarize yourself with the different payment options available to you
As a student at the University of Namibia, it’s important to familiarize yourself with the different payment options available to you. You can choose to pay your fees (registration fees and tuition fee deposit) through the University’s Online Payment platform or over a University Cashier Counter. This is more convenient as UNAM minimum payments are automatically and instantly allocated onto your student account, eliminating the need for long waiting periods or queues.
If you prefer to make a direct bank deposit or electronic funds transfer, you can do so into one of the University’s bank accounts. Please make sure to use your student number as the payment reference. The details of the bank accounts are as follows:
- First National Bank (FNB) Namibia – UNAM Student Deposit Account – 62246793451 – FIRNNANX
- Standard Bank Namibia – University of Namibia – 041471407 – SBNMNANX
- Bank Windhoek – UNAM Student Account – 8020914616 – BWLINANX
Please note that the online payment platform is only accessible once the registration fee and deposit have been allocated to your student account. Additionally, direct bank deposits and electronic transfers should be made 3-4 working days before your registration date. UNAM minimum payments made at University cashiers will reflect immediately.
Finally, students who settle their tuition fees before the end of February 2023 qualify for a 10% discount on tuition fees (excluding additional class fees). To take advantage of this, students must apply in writing before 31 May 2023.
In conclusion, it is advisable to sort out your financial enquiries prior to registration to ensure a smooth and stress-free process.
