How to Complete the CC8 Form for Reservation of a Name or Translated Form or Shortened Form in Namibia
If you are planning to start a close corporation in Namibia, you must reserve a name or translated form or shortened form by completing a CC8 form for Reservation of a Name.
Here are the steps to follow when completing the form for Reservation of a Name:
Download the Form CC8 form for Reservation of a Name
You can download the CC8 form from the Business and Intellectual Property Authority (BIPA) website or obtain it from their offices. The form must be lodged in triplicate.
Proposed Name or Translated Form or Shortened Form
Indicate whether you are applying for a proposed name, translated form or shortened form by placing a cross in the appropriate box.
In order of preference, list up to six proposed names, translated forms or shortened forms you wish to reserve for your corporation. The first name on the list will be considered first. The reservation is valid for sixty days.
Comparative Names
This section is for office use only.
Association with a Person, Corporation or Company
If the proposed name is associated with a person, corporation or company, provide the name and number (if a corporation or company) and the nature of the association. If the proposed name is not associated with any person, corporation or company, state the reason(s) for, or origin of the name.
Principle Business of the Corporation/Proposed Corporation
Indicate the principle business of the corporation or proposed corporation by describing the nature of the business in brief. In this case, the principle business is “TO INVEST IN PROPERTY, PROPERTY MANAGEMENT AND ALL RELATED SERVICES”.
Name of Applicant
Print your full name in the space provided.
Signature of Applicant/Agent
Sign the form in the space provided if you are the applicant. If someone is signing on your behalf, they must indicate their name and capacity.
Address to Which the Form Must be Returned
Provide the address to which the form must be returned. This can be a postal address or an email address. You must also provide your mobile and telephone numbers.
Pay the Required Fee
The fee for reserving a name or translated form or shortened form is N$ 75,00. Payment must be made in terms of the Act and as set out in the regulations. You can find more information on the fees on the BIPA website.
Submit it to the Registrar
Once you have completed the form and paid the fee, you can submit it to the Registrar of Business Office at the address provided on the form. You will receive confirmation of your reservation within sixty days. If the name is approved, you can proceed with the registration of your close corporation.
