NSFAF PORTAL: Your Way To Free Education and Success
In this post, I’m going to walk you through the process of registering for the NSFAF portal, as well as demonstrate how to use it, and explain why doing so is critical to your academic success.

The website URL is https://students.nsfaf.na/Pages/Home.aspx. Login if you are a current or previously NSFAF funded Student. Register if you have never been funded by NSFAF. Check Eligibility to find out if you qualify for funding before registering..
What is the purpose of the Portal?
The primary goals of the NSFAS Student Portal are to facilitate the online submission and approval of funding applications, to lower the cost of accessing these services, to streamline administrative procedures, to shorten the time needed to process requests, to increase accountability and responsiveness, and to strengthen accountability and responsiveness.
Who can use the Portal?
You need to make a user ID and a password before you can use the portal. As a result, if this is your first time registering, please select “Sign Up/Register.” Registration requires your cell phone number and email address in addition to your ID number. After you finish the registration process, you can use the user ID and password you were given to log in and use the services on the portal.
Undergraduates, postgraduates, and applicants for vocational programs who are currently enrolled in or wish to study at local and SADC/internationally recognized institutions with accredited programs are all welcome to submit their applications online.
Please note that mature age applications will only be accepted for local public institutions, namely: UNAM, NUST and NAMCOL.
It is mandatory that all required documents are uploaded during the application period.
Certified copy of applicant’s Full Birth Certificate.
Certified copy of applicant’s Namibian Identity Document (ID).
Certified copy/copies of school leaving certificate(s) [Grade 11/12 or equivalent].
Certified copy of Undergraduate qualification and its transcript (applicable to Postgraduate applicants).
Proof of combined Parental Income or declarations for applicants who are 28 years of age or younger and unemployed.
Certified copy of applicant’s parents Identity Documents (ID) or death certificates if deceased or declarations if documents do not exist.
Own or spousal income or both for employed applicants who are above the age of 28 and declarations if unemployed.
Proof of 2021 admission or registration if available during the application period.
Due to funding limitations, postgraduate applications are subject to the criteria below:
Awards will be given to those studying towards priority fields of studies (priority fields will be made available on our website, www.nsfaf.na, in due course)
Applicants should have not received more than two funding opportunities from NSFAF.
Total combined debt to NSFAF may not exceed N$350,000 (previous debt plus loan to be awarded).
If you have previously benefited from the NSFAF, you will be requested to attach an acknowledgement of debts and/or proof of repayment arrangement, before an award can be issued.
Applicants are subjected to vetting with employment status (including self-employment).
Only a set of pre-determined fee will be committed, subject to availability of funds.
Note:
Students will be provisionally awarded provided the applicant meets the funding requirements.
We remind those at Vocational Training and Education institutions to apply as no payment will be made without an application and loan contract.

WHAT IS A LOAN?
Loan refers to the approved Tuition Fees and Non-Tuition Fees, additional costs, bank charges, administration charges, and disbursements that have been advanced to or paid on behalf of the Debtor by the Fund. The Debtor is obligated to repay the Fund the amount that was advanced to or paid on behalf of the Debtor.
WHAT DO WE MEAN WHEN WE SAY “GRANTS”?
The Namibia Student Financial Assistance Fund presents monetary awards in the form of grants to deserving recipients. It’s not expected to be repaid by the student. Namibian students are eligible for these prestigious grants. They can further their selected education programs with the help of these funding opportunities.

Local, SADC/International, and postgraduate funding requirements are all considered.
