Natis price list (NaTIS licence fees explained)
Obtaining a license in Namibia requires applicants to complete several steps and pay various fees, depending on the type of license they need. We will discuss the Natis price list fees associated with each type of transaction and provide some useful information for those seeking to get their license in Namibia.
Allocation of Specific Licence Number
If you want a specific license number for your vehicle, you will need to pay a fee of N$1000. This fee covers the cost of reserving a specific number for your license plate.
Transfer of Licence Number to Own Vehicle
If you want to transfer a license number from one vehicle to another that you own, you will need to pay a fee of N$80. This fee covers the cost of updating your license information in the system.
Transfer of Licence Number to Vehicle of Other Owner
If you want to transfer a license number from one vehicle to another that belongs to a different owner, you will need to pay a fee of N$1000. This fee covers the cost of transferring ownership of the license number.
Application for Personalised Licence Number, Including the Manufacturing of Licence Plates
If you want to apply for a personalised license number, you will need to pay a fee of N$2000. This fee covers the cost of manufacturing your personalised license plates.
Duplicate Personalised Licence Number, per Plate
If you need a duplicate personalised license plate, you will need to pay a fee of N$240 per plate. This fee covers the cost of manufacturing the duplicate plate.
Transfer of Personalised Licence Number
If you want to transfer a personalised license number from one vehicle to another, you will need to pay a fee of N$80. This fee covers the cost of updating your license information in the system.
Annual Renewal of Personalised Licence Number
If you have a personalised license number, you will need to pay an annual fee of N$280 to renew it. This fee covers the cost of updating your information in the system.
Issue of Chassis or Engine Number
If you need to obtain a chassis or engine number, you will need to pay a fee of N$80. This fee covers the cost of issuing the number.
Issue of Duplicate Document or Token
If you need a duplicate document or token, you will need to pay a fee of N$30. This fee covers the cost of issuing the duplicate.
Cost of Confirming Information per Item
If you need to confirm information, you will need to pay a fee of N$50 per item. This fee covers the cost of confirming the information.
Application for a Learner’s Licence (Including Test)
If you want to apply for a learner’s license, you will need to pay a fee of N$45. This fee covers the cost of the application and the test.
Issue of Learner’s Licence
If you have passed the learner’s license test, you will need to pay a fee of N$50 to receive your learner’s license. This fee covers the cost of issuing the license.
Application for Driving Licence Code A1, A, B, BE, C1, C, C1E, CE
If you want to apply for a driving license, you will need to pay a fee of N$160. This fee covers the cost of the application and the test.
Application for Professional Authorisation
If you need to obtain professional authorisation, you will need to pay a fee of N$110. This fee covers the cost of processing your application.
Issue of Driving Licence Card
A driving license card is a critical document that serves as proof of a driver’s qualifications to operate a motor vehicle. The cost of issuing a driving license card in Namibia is N$200.00. This fee applies to all codes of driving license, including Code A1, A, B, BE, C1, C, C1E, and CE.
Duplicate Driving Licence
If a driver loses their driving license or needs a replacement, they can apply for a duplicate driving license. The cost of obtaining a duplicate driving license in Namibia is N$200.00.
Application for Temporary Driving Licence
In certain circumstances, drivers may need to apply for a temporary driving license. For example, if a driver’s license is lost or stolen and a replacement card has not yet been issued, they can apply for a temporary driving license. The cost of applying for a temporary driving license in Namibia is N$50.00.
Certification of Roadworthiness and Issuance of Roadworthy Certificate
The Namibian government requires that all vehicles on the road must be roadworthy and meet specific safety standards. As such, vehicle owners must ensure that their vehicles pass a roadworthiness test and obtain a roadworthy certificate. The cost of certification of roadworthiness, including the test, is N$150.00, while the issuance of a roadworthy certificate costs N$100.00.
Notification of Identity of Operator
According to Namibian road safety regulations, all commercial vehicles must have a designated operator. The designated operator is responsible for ensuring that the vehicle meets all safety requirements and is maintained in a roadworthy condition. The cost of notification of identity of operator in Namibia is N$40.00.
Application for Duplicate Operator Card
If an operator card is lost, damaged, or stolen, the operator must apply for a duplicate card. The cost of applying for a duplicate operator card in Namibia is N$30.00.
