  • Be computer literate and have no criminal record
  • Be willing to work irregular hours, shifts, weekends, public holidays, or standby duties after normal working hours

Minimum Requirement:

  • Possess a 4-year B-Degree (NQF 8) in Natural Sciences or a professional degree in Forensic Science majoring in Physics from a recognized tertiary institution.

Additional Requirements:

  • Proven competency and proficiency in fire-arm and tool marks examination
  • Proven competency and proficiency of mechanical function checks of fire-arms, fired bullet and cartridge determinations, projectile velocity analysis, tool and tool-mark identifications, physical match comparisons, serial number restoration, and other specialized problems
  • Proven competency and proficiency with IBIS systems, scanning Electron Microscopy, and Field Emission Electron Microscopy and its applications.

Technical Assistant Grade 13
