Here are the steps to help you complete your income tax return if you are a salaried person, pensioner, or other individual.

Step 1: Gathering Your Information (How to submit paye on itas Namibia)
Before you start the e-filing process, it’s important to gather all the relevant documents and information you’ll need. This includes:
- Your PAYE 5 certificate(s)
- Personal Retirement Annuity contribution certificate(s) (if you have more than one, scan them into one document)
- Study Policy certificate(s) (if you have more than one, scan them into one document)
- Your employer’s File Identification Number (TIN)
- Revenue Code (e.g. 0101)
Step 2: Attachment Container for ITAS e-filing (How to submit paye on itas Namibia)
Once you’ve gathered all the necessary information, you’ll need to log in to the ITAS e-filing system and upload the required documents to the attachment container. You’ll need to upload the following:
- PAYE 5 Certificate(s)
- Certificate i.r.o Retirement Fund
- Certificate i.r.o Study Policies
Step 3: Completing the Return Form for ITAS e-filing (How to file a return on ITAS)
After uploading the necessary documents, you can start filling out the return form. The return form consists of three common schedules, namely Schedule 3, Schedule 17, and Schedule 24.

Schedule 3 is where you’ll enter your income and deductions. Here’s how to complete Schedule 3:
- Enter the revenue code (e.g., 0101) found on the Individual Tax forms on ITAS website, under the download centre.
- Click on the “Add” button.
- Enter the Employer’s TIN (Employer’s File Identification Number) on your PAYE 5.
- Indicate the period “From” and “To” as indicated on your PAYE 5.
- Enter all your income values (amounts) from your PAYE 5 under Benefits and Remunerations. This includes salaries, tax value of housing allowance, other allowance, other income, etc.
- Contributions to an approved Pension or Provident Fund: Enter Name of Fund, Registration No. of Fund and Contribution Amount from your PAYE 5 under Deductions. (Only if applicable)
- Contributions to an approved Retirement Annuity Fund: Enter Name of Fund, Registration No. of Fund and Contribution Amount from your retirement annuity certificate(s). (Only if applicable)
- Study Policy: Enter Study policy assurance company name, Study policy number and premiums paid i.r.o Study policies from your study policy contribution certificate(s). (Only if applicable)
ii) Schedule 17 (How to submit paye on itas Namibia)
Schedule 17 is where you’ll enter the sum of employee’s tax deducted from your PAYE 5. If you have more than one PAYE 5, make sure to combine all the P.A.Y.E deducted amounts.
- Enter the sum of employee’s tax deducted from your PAYE 5. If you have more than one PAYE 5, combine all the P.A.Y.E. DEDUCTED amounts.
iii) Schedule 24 (How to submit paye on itas Namibia)
Schedule 24 is where you’ll declare any other income you’ve earned during the tax year. If you own a house or are renting, make sure to enter the necessary information.
- If you are not the owner of the house, indicate the Name and Address of the Owner.
- If you are Renting, indicate the TIN and ID/Registration Number of the house owner.
- If you are in possession of a company vehicle, indicate yes or no. If yes, provide details.
Step 4: Taxpayer Declaration to IRD (How to file a return on ITAS)
Once you’ve completed the three schedules, you’ll need to scroll down to the bottom of the page and confirm that you’ve provided accurate information.
- The information you have provided is true and correct to the best of your knowledge and belief
- You have declared all your sources of income for the period under review
- You have not claimed any deduction or allowance not allowed by the law
